Veritas Caspian has acquired over 5000Kms of 2D seismic data in the Middle Caspian utilizing marine streamer technology, supported by the CGGVeritas group. The CGGVeritas group operates one of the worlds largest and most versatile seismic marine fleets. This can provide our clients unrivalled access to high-end vessels with a variety of towing configurations to suit their exploration requirements in the Caspian Sea.

With an ongoing program of fleet investment and renewal, the fleet is continually being upgraded with the latest technology:

  • has the highest deployment of Sercel solid streamers in the industry.
  • the innovative Nautilus 3-in-1 streamer positioning, depth control and steering device is being rolled out across the fleet.
  • two new revolutionary design Ulstein X-BOW advanced technology, environmentally certified vessels have been commissioned.
Solid Streamers
Solid streamers are recognized as being the quietest in the industry, being less susceptible to towing and environmental noise. Nautilus reduces the number of devices on the streamers and has a lower induced noise level than conventional depth controllers. The streamer is quieter in all applications and environments, including when steered.

Solid streamers are recognized for their consistency, reliability, high signal-to-noise ratio and low frequency recording.
Their low noise characteristics allow the extension of operations into more marginal weather windows.
The consistent buoyancy allows stable towing at shallower depths to optimize high-frequency acquisition where required.
Nautilus provides advanced acoustic positioning, powerful streamer steering, and automatic depth control and spread regularization, resulting in:
  • improved full streamer positioning
  • regularized spread gives better 3D coverage and reduced infill
  • better control of denser streamer spreads
  • more accurate steering to pre-plot positions and feather matching, provides greatly improved 4D repeatability
